At first glance my thoughts about this Cosby doing hip hop thing were what the hell is going on, but once I listened to what he had to say, I got it. I think his heart is in the right place but I just don’t think that kids is going to listen to Bill Cosby, Jello pudding pops been a wrap…

He need to get a younger raper who has the same view points as he do, get behind him, and finance his career to get their message out there. I just think a hip hop album coming from Bill is going to fall on deaf ears.

Your Thoughts?

Young Money/Cash Money in London; these boys are going hard its been ten years and they have survive the storms of the industry and steps thing up another notch. Be on the look out for the new young guy they got on their roster, Jay Sean he is definitely a star. Opening up a Cash Money UK is one of the smartest moves they could have ever made. US artists are going to have to start taking their brand global to really compete in the new industry climate.

Drake

So the deal wasn’t for $4 million and more like $2 million according to the LA Times… Check out details below:

Under the unusually lucrative agreement he struck with Aspire/Young Money/Cash Money Records distributed through Universal, Drake received a $2-million advance. He retains the publishing rights to his songs and cedes only around 25% of his music sales revenues to the label as a “distribution fee,” his managers said. By contrast, the overwhelming majority of new artists sign financially restrictive “360 deals” that sap their touring and merchandise income and offer much more restrictive profit-sharing.

“The record company doesn’t have any ownership of Drake,” Bryant said. “The label does not have participation on profits. They don’t have ownership of his masters. We control his entire career. Those deals don’t happen anymore.”
