What are you thoughts, was this the best route for him to take in finally speaking on his situation, and was it genuine?

First Kobe now this lol… Tiger is taking a page out of Kobe’s book and instead of a ring he’s garbing his pissed off wifey a 61ft. diving boat according to People, check it out.

The future of Tiger Woods’s marriage and career may be in question, but the embattled golf star will have something to look forward to in the coming weeks: A new, custom-designed sporting boat christened Solitude, according to sources.

Aptly named for the embattled athlete who hasn’t been seen since fighting with wife Elin Nordegren on Thanksgiving night, the 61-foot boat may also serve as a peace offering. “Solitude is a dive boat and was designed for Elin, who loves the sport,” a source tells PEOPLE.

Nordegren and Woods did a lot of diving in the early years of their marriage, and he had told friends he might buy a dive boat. “Tiger and Elin have continued diving when they are out for relaxation,” says a source. “And they talked about having a boat that would be mainly for this purpose.”

Two years in the works and built at a cost of $2 to $3 million, the boat is much smaller than his 150-foot yacht Privacy and is currently docked at the Pirate’s Cove Resort & Marina less than 10 minutes from his new Jupiter Island estate-in-progress.

785252270_ZpPLD-MTiger’s #1 side breezy Rachel Uchitel was interviewed last night by the show’s Mario Lopez, “and I guess the producers were impressed by her and offered a job as a special correspondent,” a rep said. We’re told she’ll report for “Extra” on nightlife “hot spots.”

A show source added, “She won’t talk about Tiger, but she talks about how she wants to find a husband and have kids. She only has a few real friends left whom she trusts. She is alone a lot and spends time with her two dogs. She seems very vulnerable.” Lol what has this world come to, when mistresses are held up as celebrities and major networks support this non sense… crazy, anything for ratings!!

Wasn’t a good look laughing on camera even if he isn’t that worried about the outcome; trust me the  NBA and DEA are watching these interviews and all of that kind of stuff will play a part in their decision on disciplining Gilbert.

TIGER-WOODS-SHIRTLESS-VANIT1

This shoot was done pre-scandal but it doesn’t matter Vanity Fair will still make a boat load of money off of this; I willing to bet anything they’ll do a story as if it wasn’t and the public isn’t going to know the difference.

Tiger

According to sources AT&T Inc. said Thursday it would no longer sponsor Tiger Woods, joining Accenture in dropping support for the world’s top golfer, who’s taking a break from the sport to focus on his marriage after his admitted infidelity.

The phone company hasn’t used Woods’ image extensively in advertising, but its logo appeared on his golf bag. That deal had been billed as a “multiyear” agreement when it was signed early in 2009, after Buick ended its endorsement one year early because of its financial woes.

Woods has also been the host of the AT&T National PGA Tour event since it started in 2007. Tour spokesman Ty Votaw said that since Woods is on indefinite leave from professional golf, he will not serve as host for the 2010 event. However, his Tiger Woods Foundation will continue to be the beneficiary of the AT&T National, under a contract that runs through 2014, Votaw said.

AT&T said it would continue to sponsor the event.

Woods won the 2009 AT&T National in July at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. The AT&T National is moving to Aronimink Country Club outside Philadelphia the next two years as Congressional prepares to host the 2011 U.S. Open.

AT&T has also been the presenting sponsor of the annual Tiger Jam concert event in Las Vegas, but that contract has expired, according to AT&T spokesman Michael Coe.

AT&T, which is based in Dallas, did not comment on its reasons for dropping Woods, or how much the relationship was worth.

Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, had no comment on AT&T’s decision.

When all else fails Tiger still has Nike in his corner. Nike chairman and co. founder Phil Knight says they are remaining with Tiger. Knight recently did an interview with sportsbusinessjournal to discuss Nike’s support of Tiger and the business of endorsements, Check it Out:

How would you characterize the state of athlete endorsements right now?
Knight: It’s a market like other things and the market like other markets has gone down. When the economy comes back up, they’ll go back up.

When?
Knight: You tell me when the economy is going to get better and I’ll tell you right about that same time.

You look at someone like Tiger Woods and this episode of infidelity. Does this change the concept of building brands around athletes?
Knight: Not for us. It’s part of the game.

Does a company like Nike or another company run a risk in building brands around athletes?

tiger-woodsFound a great column discussing about Tiger’s brand, the backlash he’s been receiving,  and the public’s invested interest; while asking the question why does everyone care so much; check it out:

The last few weeks we’ve watched the triumphant fall of golf’s top brand and billion-dollar athlete, Tiger Woods. Tiger’s world spiraled out of control, right before our eyes, as a freak car accident turned into a sex scandal involving upwards of 10 different women. News outlets and gossip magazines have obsessed over information about Tiger’s private affairs, reporting details about the athlete that most of us never needed to know.

This week, Tiger Woods was compared to O.J. Simpson….really? It’s horrible to cheat on your wife and to misrepresent yourself, but since when is sleeping around equivalent to having murder charges against you? In a time when athletes, politicians, and other public figures are regularly caught having extramarital affairs, why is the Tiger Woods’ scandal such big news?

Because… Read More…

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore. This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.
The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

For a world figure of Tiger’s status he and his business team have to know that anything and everything that goes on in his life will be up for public scrutiny. They have made a big mistake here by not being aggressive at having Tiger speak publicly and quieting all rumors; by him not addressing this situation the media is going to make it difficult for this matter to go away. Tiger will definitely suffer an image tarnishing from this and it will also cost him financially. In the up coming months Tiger will make less appearances and probably miss a few tournaments which will amount to millions loss. Tiger’s team must step their PR game up and fast before this situation gets out of hand.

Tiger Woods

Its official people Tiger Wood has just been announced as the world’s first billion dollar athlete by Forbes.com. This is a huge milestone for the black community and for sports. Literally two generations ago there were people who wouldn’t even allow blacks to compete on the same field of play as white and now fast forward 40-50 later a black man is the first billion dollar athlete; simply amazing. People let this be motivation for us to keep striving to be the best in all that we do. This is truly a year of first, there was Obama becoming president and now we have Tiger crushing the competition; Check it Out:

Tiger Woods has been making history on and off the course since he joined the PGA Tour in 1996. First up was a record $40 million contract from Nike. The following year he won the Masters by a record 12 strokes, becoming the youngest winner ever and first black player to take the title. His career has been packed full of accomplishments, including major titles (14), annual money titles (9) and Player of the Year awards (9).

Now Woods can add one more accolade to his trophy case: the first athlete to earn $1 billion. Our calculations show that the $10 million bonus Woods earned winning this year’s FedEx Cup title nudged him over the $1 billion mark in career earnings.
