A few days ago an interview exert from Vibe magazine hit the internet where Diddy discussed the allegations of him being unfair to artist and practicing shady business. Well I guess former Bad Boy artist Black Rob got word and wanted to get a few things off of his chest about his former boss Diddy, check it out.
In a recent interview with Vibe Magazine,Diddy let off a little steam discussing allegations of him being a back stabber, con-man, thief, and many other adjetives that have been used to describe him. Read his comments below:
Diddy:“There’s an off perception that needs to be addressed about me that I have ever robbed somebody or mistreated somebody, or tried to be ruthless or whatever in this game. Like, all this year I’ve heard people say, “Where’s Carl Thomas, where’s Black Rob, where’s G.Dep? Where are these artists?” And for some reason they go ahead and equate that, cause those artists aren’t with me, that I’ve done something wrong or malicious or conniving. It’s something that I do have a problem with because they don’t have no proof that I’ve ever done nothing like that.”
It’s a misconception. Especially someone who’s been brought up like me. I’ve been brought up to work hard for mine and never take from nobody. And to always try and help people. But people don’t understand this game that were in. You have a short life expectancy. It’s rare to a me, to be a Jay-Z, an LL, a Nas. That sh*t is a rarity. That’s not even one percent of the rappers. If you look at any artists that were on Ruff Ryders, where they at? If you look at any artist that was on Def Jam at the time we started, where they at? If you look at any artist that was on Roc-A-Fella, Jive, where they at? It’s not like anything was wrong with them. It’s just that you have a four, five-year average in this game. That’s just something I wanted to address.
My Thoughts: He does have a point but I think the misconception that many artist have in being with the black owned labels is that the are lead to believe that they were a tight knitted family once signed to the label; and we all know that thats the furtherest thing from the truth. If you look at most of the black owned labels they were ran on principles that applied in the under world/the streets/the hood. When you take these young artist from the streets and bring them into the “family” and knight the with a chain and tell them they are family, of coarse when the record sells start slowing up and they are kicked to the curb they are going to be upset because they were lead to believe that they were family; and we all know that family stick together through think and thin.
Here is another perspective from dakidd and its right on point:
The purpose of being on a “family” label is that a “family” label develops you, guides you, and pushes your career… the artist = the talent; the label = the machine. This is not to say the artist should enter shitty deals and not read their paperwork but Ruff Ryders, Bad Boy, RocaFella, G-Unit, No Limit, Cash Money etc did not promote or set their labels up in the same way Geffen, Def Jam, Interscope, Jive or even Koch did.
Those labels let you know they were just a label and you and your team had to put the work in… all of the black owned labels promoted that they were not just your label but they were your team; when in retrospect a number of the situations were just business like at Geffen, Jive or any other non black owned label.Thats why there are so many disgruntled artists, I’m sure if Puffy presented his label in the same manner Warner Music Group runs their label these people wouldn’t be so pissed.
What are your thoughts do artist have a right to feel cheated?
I was reading an article in the LA Times about Sean “Diddy” Combs discussing his new role in “Get Him To The Greek” and in this article there was a list of titles he has held as a business man all while building upon a maturing acting career. While reading, it really hit me that this guy is truly amazing; we all have our opinion of who we think Diddy is, some of us love him and some us hate him. Though, when you look at his track record of success in various industries, in-addition to the amount of courage and fearlessness he continue to display by putting himself out in the open to be criticized you must respect his boldness.
With the level of success Diddy’s has accomplished it would be easy for him to retire and go enjoy his wealth and raise his kids, but for a guy like him who is addicted to the grind that would be damn near impossible. The thing I noticed about individuals who have built fortunes is rarely do you hear them mention the thought of retiring. He is a part of the rare breed of successful individuals who take true pleasure in succeeding at whatever they put their hand to and will not stop until they have accomplished their goal.
From his days as an intern at “Uptown” Diddy has evolved into many things — rapper, producer, manager, clothing designer, car designer, magazine publisher, reality-television star, actor and business executive. His success hasn’t come by chance but through pure will and determination he has earned the right to sit on top as the king of entertainment. For a person who has came so far and started with so little you have to tip your hat to him and give credit where it due.
I would just like to give Sean “Diddy” Combs his props and thank him for the inspiration.

Diddy released the leading single for the new Dirty Money album Hello Good Morning, ft. Rick Ross and T.I.; this video remind me of the classic Bad Boy vibe back in the 90’s when they were killing it. Jay Electronica interview and Master P and Romeo appearance on the Wendy Williams Show when you…..
Rick Ross spoke with MTV about making Diddy his manager; at first glance it seems like a great move but I wonder how will Diddy be able to balance managing an artist while focusing on his various businesses he’s involved in. Not to mention he’s an artist himself, there is definitely a conflict of interest here. Jeezy video inside when you..
Diddy has his hands in a lot of business ventures and according to his camp he is looking at one more.
According to reports, Diddy has taken an interest in London’s historic soccer team Crystal Palace. The team which was founded in 1905 has recently seen financial hardships due to lack luster player performance and also went to administration which could possibly demote the team to a lower sports bracket.
“Diddy was in London meeting football fixers a couple of weeks ago. The finance is in place, he’s just deciding who he thinks he’ll make a bid for. Portsmouth were mentioned but he thought Palace were a better idea,” a source said. “He could cover their debt. He liked the name as well.”
Apparently, Diddy has been looking at a number of English football clubs, but was won over by Palace’s name.
Diddy, who is worth over $360 million dollars, is more than able to take care of the substantial debt that the team has accrued. The legendary hit maker has said to be in the process of making a bid.
Spending and investing is nothing new to P. Diddy who reportedly spent $500,000 at a party promoting his new album Last Train to Paris. What will be interesting is to see if Diddy can pull this off without appearing in and on everything associated with the team or having the team appear in music videos.
Whether you hate him or love him, you can’t deny that it must feel good to be a Bad Boy.
Did you know that the deal Puff has with Ciroc he receives 50% splits on all profits and has a multiyear arm to it where he could receive up to $1 million.
