Twitter Talk

Paris Hilton was arrested late Friday after a police motorcycle officer smelled marijuana smoke wafting from a black Cadillac Escalade driven by her boyfriend on the Las Vegas Strip, then found cocaine in her purse, authorities said.

A crowd quickly gathered when Hilton and Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits were stopped about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the vehicle near the Wynn Las Vegas resort on Las Vegas Boulevard, police said. The 29-year-old celebrity socialite asked to go into the hotel for privacy because of the number people gathering, said Officer Marcus Martin.

Police later found a substance in Hilton’s purse that tests showed to be cocaine, Martin said. He said it was “a small amount” of the drug, a package of the size usually associated with personal use.

Hilton was arrested on suspicion of felony cocaine possession. Waits, 34, was arrested on misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Both were booked into the Clark County jail, where Martin said Hilton was released without bail about 2:45 a.m. Saturday. Sgt. John Sheahan said Hilton received no special treatment during her brief time at the jail, and that release without bail was common in such cases.

Less than an hour later, Hilton’s Twitter account was updated with a posting that said the actress was in bed watching the television show “Family Guy,” and then that she was going to sleep. It was unclear if the tweets came from her, were posted by time-release or were sent by someone else.

If convicted of the low-grade felony, Hilton would get probation. Any violation of probation would be punishable by one to four years in Nevada state prison.

Well it seems that Laurence Fishburne is chucking the deuces to his daughter Montana Fishburne for her porno debut.

Montana Fishburne, known as Chippy D in the world of porn, told media yesterday that she spoke to daddy Laurence for the first time Monday since she went public with her porn video.

And he said he is disowning her till she gets her turn her life around.  TMZ was the first to report:

According to Montana, her dad said, “I’m not going to speak with you ’till you turn your life around.” Laurence was referring to his daughter joining the ranks of Vivid Entertainment as a porn star.

Montana says Laurence added, “You embarrassed me.”

And this parting shot. According to Montana, Laurence said, “You used your last name. No one uses their real name in porn.”

By the way what the hell kind of name is Chippy D, sound like an old 1980’s rap name, her porn mentor Brian Pumper must of sold her on that dumb a*s name.

Young Jeezy and Rick Ross got the net going crazy with this BMF ish. Jeezy sets the record straight in an interview with MTV for all the inquiring minds who are wondering if he’s going at Rick Ross or not, check it out:

It’s not a dis,” Jizzle told MTV News via phone from ATL. “First of all, I’m not gonna get nothing out of dissing that guy. That’s one. What am I gonna get out of dissing him? I think sometimes people can read into things too deep. They trippin’, man. They crazy out there. Basically, if homie takes that as a dis, he’s insecure, and anybody else out there who does, they are insecure.

“When it comes to that [Black Mafia Family] situation, I’m gonna talk about it a little flyer anyway,” Young added. “I happen to know that situation very well. But basically ['Death B4 Dishonor'], it’s off a mixtape that’s coming out. My mixtape is coming out on Thursday, it’s called 1,000 Grams. I took all the records I liked and flipped them my way. It’s a gang of records on there like that. It’s like 12 joints, all records that I heard in the club that I like and flipped them my way.

While Jeezy doesn’t mention Ross by name on “Death B4 Dishonor,” one of the lines fueling the speculation questions: “How you Blowin’ Money Fast?/ You don’t know the crew/ Oh, you part of the fam?/ Sh–, I never knew.”

MTV chiefs are cracking down on the money-grabbing “Jersey Shore” stars’ lucrative personal appearances that are netting them up to $7,500 a night according to sources.

They’ve ordered the cast — including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, “Pauly D” Delvecchio and Jenni “JWoww” Farley — to rein in their appearances at clubs and bars or face strict fines or even legal action.

But sources say certain cast members are blatantly ignoring the rules and pushing to rake in as much money as possible — despite having all signed $180,000 contracts to film a second season this summer.

A source close to the cast told us, “MTV has told the ‘Jersey Shore’ crew they can only do two personal appearances a week, and that all of their gigs have to be approved by producers. They’ve threatened the cast that they will be fined if they flout the rules — but some don’t care and are blatantly going ahead to earn as much cash as they possibly can.”

A second source told us MTV honchos fear the show’s “brand” could turn to trash if the cast continues “pimping themselves” at the current rate. The source said, “We have to put in controls to protect the brand. We don’t want them out all over the map at every single bar in the country.

“They have to get permission from MTV prior to doing a personal appearance — we don’t want one of these kids appearing in a topless bar. Pauly D’s fan base is about 85 percent women between 12 and 21, we have to protect that.”

Michael Schweiger, who manages the cast members except Snooki, confirmed, “We’re incredibly busy. It’s a hell of a ride right now. This is something like America hasn’t seen before as far as reality TV goes. Rather than let it run like a train out of control, there has to be some rules put in place.”

MTV did not respond.

Jobless Numbers May Signal Next Risk: Inflation

It’s a signal of just how bad the economy was last year that investors will probably cheer if the Labor Department announces Friday that the December unemployment rate came in at 10%.

Never mind that you have to go back to the recession of 1982 to see similar jobless levels. After apparently hitting a peak of 10.2% in October, unemployment fell to 10% in November. Another month like that could indicate the economy has stopped shrinking and is even beginning to expand.

Now the question looms: Is inflation next? With the Treasury and Federal Reserve essentially printing U.S. currency and handing it to banks and overstretched lenders like Fannie Mae, there is always the chance that too many dollars chasing a fixed amount of goods will lead to higher prices. Inflation is at least as much based on perception of the future as conditions today, said Kevin Kleisen, an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Saint Louis and author of a recent report that suggests people should start thinking about the unthinkable.

“Right now inflation expectations are fairly low and stable, but if the market gets spooked–either from the Fed not withdrawing stimulus fast enough, or the rising budget deficit–that could lead to higher inflation expectations,” Kreisen said.

Friday’s release might have something for inflation bulls and bears. Jobless numbers are highly volatile from month to month and are calculated using a different survey than for nonfarm employment. So don’t be surprised if Friday’s release shows two different trends. Employment could rise while unemployment ticks up as well, said David Resler, chief economist for the U.S. at Nomura Securities in New York.

“Theres a chance the unemployment rate will dip below 10%, but I’m not sure we’ve seen the peak yet,” said Resler. “If you go by history, it could go higher even if the economy is improving.” For More Click Here

Three Myths About Starting Your Own Business

Mistakes that hurt countless would-be entrepreneurs.

Many people dream of shedding the corporate life and starting their own companies. They imagine creating the next Google or Apple. From Steve Jobs to Bill Gates to Pierre Omidyar, many of the world’s richest people on the Forbes Billionaires List started as entrepreneurs, so it’s little wonder so many believe that’s the path to wealth and happiness. But getting a company going is hard and takes sacrifices, especially in this down market. More than 50% of companies fail in their first five years. Their founders spend much of that time skipping vacations and luxuries and sometimes even meals.

I’ve started three businesses, and I’ve invested in others as an angel investor and venture capitalist. I’ve often struggled and failed. My second start-up made $7,000 over three years while I lived in a $200-a-month apartment. With another one I gained 25 pounds during the first year, thanks to too many hurried dashes to McDonald’s. But I’m glad I chose the entrepreneurial path. I like the challenge of creating something from scratch.

I’ve learned a lot from my experiences. Before you venture out on your own, I offer you three myths about starting a business that I wish I had known before I began. For More Click Here

ABC News Nightline did a piece on why so many successful Black women are single, and if they need to lower their standards in regards to requirements for finding a mate.

It’s amazing to me that these issues still plague the African American community to no resolve. I think that the biggest problem with addressing things of this nature is that we never really deal with the real issues. The inner struggle amongst our people (young against old, light against dark, and male against female) has never been properly dealt with. The subconscious contention that’s embed in our brain goes back to times of slavery where slave owners purposefully created contention amongst slaves. This whole contrived battle within our community worked in past times and is still at work today. We are attacking these relational problems within our community ass backwards; there is no understanding amongst man and woman and that’s why we are in this position as a people today. The support system, respect and honor amongst Black Male and Female has been destroyed.

It’s easy to criticize one another when there is no understanding and this is the biggest problem amongst Blacks and it’s that communication and understanding has totally been lost. We (male and female) create our relational perspective without ever really listening to the cares and thoughts of the opposite sex. We have acquired some of the best expressive skills and some of the poorest listening skills leaving both sides at a standstill; pissed off while holding on to premature perspectives… females believing the brothers can’t get it together and fellas thinking the sisters are money hungry and know it all.

Females make statements like black men are abandoning black women, they only want to date light skin or white women, there are no available good black men, and black men incapable of monogamy.

Brothers make statements like black women are money hungry, black women don’t show brothers respect, and black women have a problem with letting the man lead.

These are rhetorical dead end statements that will never result in anything but empty argumentative conversations and still a community divided. The real issues are why is it that compared to any other race in the U.S. we are the most negative, destructive, unaware of self, un-unified, imprisoned, and uneducated of all. Is it because it’s just in our nature to be this way or is it a method to this madness.

What are your thoughts?

Stay tuned I will continue this discussion on Thursday.. please leave comments I would like to know your thoughts
