In this edition of ENTnext Alexis Diaz had a chance to catch up with soulful R&B/Hip-Hop artist from Detroit, MI; Ivan Keith.Ivan started his courtship with music in grade school as a musician; first trying the trumpet on for size, and later switching to saxophone. In high school Ivan taught himself some guitar basics and began to write songs and sing. He also focused his lyrical talents toward rap verses. In 2004 he hooked up with singer, producer, and songwriter Jacob Borum to create One Track Entertainment, LLC.
December 2009 marked the release of Ivan Keith’s debut album: About Love, produced by One Track and written by Ivan. While the title of the album gives away its subject matter, his use of synth laden beats with melodic lines give a fresh take on the topic at hand. There are songs such as “Healer” which seem completely influenced by the Neo-Soul movement, and others like “Vacation” that have current R&B and Hip Hop elements on top of a lush production arrangement. About Love covers every aspect of Love: the newness, the satisfaction, the breaking-up, and the making-up, and falling in love all over again.
This is definitely a talent you want to keep an eye out for in the years to come. His musical talent is very diverse which kind of put him in a lane all by himself, which isn’t a bad thing these days. Check out our Quick 6 interview with him below and some of his music. His album About Love is currently available for sale as a digital download on sites such as iTunes, amazon.com, lala.com etc.

In our ENTnext feature we are pleased to bring you upcoming talents in all forms of business. I recently had an opportunity to sit down and talk with Clothing Designer Haven Prescott Jr. Founder and Ceo of Moral Fabrix for a Quick 6, Check it Out:
1.Alexis: What would you say your biggest inspiration is for starting your clothing line?
Haven: Biggest inspiration was my mother. Before she passed, I told her that I would start my own business and be successful. Then when 9/11 hit I came up with the name Moral Fabrix. I had a love for skateboarding and wanted to give a clothing line where Rock/Hip-Hop and European influence would all be fused together. To let the world know that you don’t have to just like one genre but multitudes. The term for this fusion is called Skurban.
2. Alexis:How does your family feel about you starting your own clothing line? Are they supportive or skeptical?
Haven: In the beginning my father was skeptical. He was actually the reason for me not pursuing going to School for fashion. He told me that it wouldn’t be beneficial and that I needed to choose a different career path. My brothers and sister have always supported what I have wanted to do. They have always believed in my vision. Now as years have passed and things have progressed in my business, my father sees how I have excelled, and he could not be more proud. He completely supports me and does not doubt any decision that I make.
3. Alexis: How long have you been a clothing designer for? Did you always know that this was what you wanted to do?
Haven: Wow, well lets see I have always been artistic. From a young age I would always draw pictures of people, scenery, clothing. I would have to say that by the age of 8 or 9 I knew I was going to be involved in fashion. All the kids would always notice me by the clothes I would wear. At a young age I was already making a statement and everyone noticed. I also used to model at the age of 17, so I’ve always been in the industry from a young age and always had a sense of style. It was in 1999 at the age of 22 that I realized that I wanted to be a clothing designer.

She has her first solo chart single “TiK ToK” to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 (2-1), set to be released on billboard.biz on Thursday, (Dec. 24). She’s the first female vocalist to rise to No. 1 with her debut single since Lady Gaga stormed the list with “Just Dance” in January 2009.
“TiK ToK” is actually the second Hot 100 No. 1 to feature vocals by the 22-year old. She had a non-credited appearance on Flo Rida’s six-week chart-topper “Right Round” earlier this year. “TiK ToK’ is the first release from Ke$ha’s debut set, “Animal,” which hits retail on January 5.
“TiK Tok” also moves 2-1 on Digital Songs with 221,000 downloads (up 40,000) and is the Digital Gainer on the Hot 100. The song’s weekly total is the highest sum since Britney Spears’ “3” posted 254,000 on the chart dated Oct. 24. “3” remains in the Hot 100 top 10, falling 9-10 this week. Ke$ha’s move to the top bumps “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z & Alicia Keys from its perch (1-2) after a five-week run. Check out her video below:
