Bill Board Charts

While the Billboard 200 album chart’s top 10 welcomes six debuts, none can push Eminem’s “Recovery” out of the top slot (116,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan; down 12%). The set thus spends its seventh non-consecutive week at No. 1 — the most weeks atop the list since Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” strung together 11 non-consecutive frames in the penthouse in late 2008 and early 2009.

“Recovery” also notches the most weeks at No. 1 for a male artist’s album since Usher’s “Confessions” earned nine weeks in the top slot in 2004, and the most for a hip-hop effort since OutKast’s “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below” did seven in late 2003 and early 2004.

Eminem’s “Recovery” will blast in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week with 741,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan”Recovery’s” debut week sales surpasses the first week of Eminem’s last set, “Relapse,” which began at No. 1 in 2009 with 608,000. It also beats the opening of 2005’s “Curtain Call: The Hits” which entered at No. 1 with 441,000 in 2005.

Em is definitely back and probably better than ever. The fans have spoken and who they have chosen to be the best in the game and its 50 Cent’s favorite white boy. Actually listening to the album right now and this joint os crazy.

Props to B.o.B for entering the charts at the #1 spot with his debut album; “The Adventures of Bobby Ray,” selling 84,000 copies in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. It marks the first time a solo male artist has earned a No. 1 album on the chart with their debut release since Aug. 26, 2006, when Rick Ross’ “Port of Miami” opened atop the list with 187,000.

B.o.B’s 84,000-start makes it the third straight week were the No. 1 album in the U.S. sells less than 100,000 copies. That’s the longest sub-100,000 run at the top since February of 2009, when Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” spent its last three (of 11) weeks at No. 1. B.o.B (given name Bobby Ray Simmons) has already had a taste of No. 1 success on the Billboard charts, as the album’s lead single “Nothin’ On You” (featuring Bruno Mars) spent two weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Check out B.o.B’s new joint ft. T.I. and Tre “Bet I”

Kesha

Newcomer Ke$ha is taking off.

She has her first solo chart single “TiK ToK” to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 (2-1), set to be released on billboard.biz on Thursday, (Dec. 24). She’s the first female vocalist to rise to No. 1 with her debut single since Lady Gaga stormed the list with “Just Dance” in January 2009.

“TiK ToK” is actually the second Hot 100 No. 1 to feature vocals by the 22-year old. She had a non-credited appearance on Flo Rida’s six-week chart-topper “Right Round” earlier this year. “TiK ToK’ is the first release from Ke$ha’s debut set, “Animal,” which hits retail on January 5.

“TiK Tok” also moves 2-1 on Digital Songs with 221,000 downloads (up 40,000) and is the Digital Gainer on the Hot 100. The song’s weekly total is the highest sum since Britney Spears’ “3” posted 254,000 on the chart dated Oct. 24. “3” remains in the Hot 100 top 10, falling 9-10 this week. Ke$ha’s move to the top bumps “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z & Alicia Keys from its perch (1-2) after a five-week run. Check out her video below:
